      Dear Sharma
Some Raga’s are more famous in one region than the other. However, Northern and Southern music differ only in style. Originally there used to be only one system. Once Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan was talking about Charukeshi, and someone objected, “Ustad Ji, Charukeshi is a Southern Raga”.
Ustad ji replied in an angry voice, “I don’t care if it is Northern or Southern.”
